Hi all,

I am thinking about buying an ethernet to wireless bridge (Linksys WT-54g).
I would like to connect the bridge to my Linux server which need to act as
DHCP/NAT/gateway etc server. In fact, the Linux gw should act as a kind of
wireless gateway for all the wireless clients connecting by the bridge. Is
this setup possible?

Thanks,
Rene

Interesting idea. I was thinking along the same lines. I wonder what
is the difference in using an actual access point instead of a bridge?

Thanks

The bride is to connect one or more wired clients to a network, while an
access point is to connect one or more wireless clients to a network...

The bridge is a wireless client so I would think that if you wanted to
use your Linux box as the Internet gateway then you would want to
connect an AP (or the Linksys G router configured as an AP). Each
wireless client would connect to the AP and get its DHCP settings from
your Linux box.

Think of your Linux box as a cable modem or DSL modem. Internet -
Gateway (HW router or Linux box or whatever - AP - wireless clients.
