Linksys WAP54G lockup problem

I'm using a WAP54G AP on a simple network with 1 Windows 2000 laptop (has
Linksys 54G notebook card). I've updated both the adapter card drivers and
the AP firmware from Linksys' web site). When I unplug the WAP54G and plug
it in again it seems to get locked up. When I reestablish the wireless link
I can't get through to the internet. When I try to access the AP (over a
wired connection) the setup utility says it can't find an AP. Occasionally,
I lose Internet connectivity (but not the AP link) while everything is
powered.

Sometimes resetting the AP clears up the issue, sometimes not. Sometimes
leaving the AP unplugged for an extended period of time clears up the issue.
It appears quite random. Anyone else run into problems like this?

Bob,you must have a router to be sharing your broadband. typically
they start issuing dhcp from 192.xxx.xxx.100 up to .255 unless you
restrict num clients..Did you assign the wap a static address below
100 so it would not conflict with you router assignment range?

Bob;
Don't listen to what they say This is a firmware bug with the
WAP54G's. I have the exact same issue on 2 out of 2 wap54g. If you
leave the device FULLY unplugged for 10-30 minutes it will ping when
it boots back up. If you save any of the changes it goes dead again.
I've informed linksys of this and I suggest you do also. So far I am
unimpressed with the WAP54G from linksys, I hope they fix this issue.
Its extremely annoying.

Yes.. I've heard it's firmware's problem...

My WAP54g's (working as PtP bridge) after few hours, started to have ping at
level of 400ms... and it was getting worse and worse :-( At last I've seen
first time in my life pings of 150000ms!! (2,5 min)

Then I've switched them to "mixed" mode and fixed speed at level of
18Mbps... And they are working... Tomorrow - if everything will be ok, I'll
try to set them faster..

I bet that makes playing games online a little slow!! I thought that when I
played online with a 56k modem that 200ms or more was slow.
