I have a Linksys WAP11 v2.2 that will not allow me into the setup page
either via http://192.168.1.251/ or the setup software. The amber light is
blinking, therefore, there is obviously "something" wrong with the unit, so
my question is whether the unit is ready for the trash can or is there
something else I can try? For reference, I held the reset button in for over
a minute and also left the unit sit overnight with the power removed, but
that didn't help.

TIA

The web browser times out (I do not get the password window) and the setup
software cannot find the AP on the network. The strange thing is, the AP
works, I just can't get into the setup.

Thanks for the reply.

With the power on push the reset and hold for about 10 seconds. That should
set the unit back to factory settings.

I already addressed that with the following: "For reference, I held the
reset button in for over
a minute and also left the unit sit overnight with the power removed, but
that didn't help." <G>

Thanks anyway!

Have you tried to flash it?

Perhaps I am misunderstanding, but I "assume" that you are referring to the
firmware. If so, how do I do that without being able to get into the setup?
If not, please advise.

Thanks!

See if Linksys has TFTP.exe will work with the unit.

If this is connected to a router, can you see the AP in the router's
DHCP client table, and verify the IP address?

Is the PC you are using to access the AP on the same subnet 192.168.1.xxx ?
If not set PC's IP to a 192.168.1.xxx number...

Does the AP respond to a ping on 192.168.1.251?
