Hi

I have a week old WAG54G
I have understood there is a firmware upgrade that will fix some initial
problems
located at
http://www.linksys.com/international...fwid=26&coid=6

Have downloaded this and unzipped to produce .bin file

Went to Administration screen on linksys and then Firmware Upgrade
Browsed for file, found it and clicked on UPGRADE
Upgrade progress bar started - got 1/4 of way and then browser said screen
not viewable
Waited a while
Went back in to admin screens on browser (192.168.1.1)
Firmware still reporting old version on top right
Rebooted router
No change
Tried process again
same thing - screen non viewable after 1/4 progress

How do you upgrade the router?

Also when connected via wireless can alter settings on all screens
When connected via LAN hardwired cat5 connection, can alter data on some
screens whilst main setup screen asks for password (entered on login)
rejects password - asks again - rejects again and then comes up with red 404
screen saying unauthorised??

Any ideas?

Ian

Try using a seperate tftp program. If you do a google on tftp and linksys,
there should be sites that show you how to upload new firmware via the tftp
protocol.

file is: wag54g_eu_AnnexA_ETSI_v1.01.5_0113.zip ?

I've downloaded this but not done the upgrade yet. Did your screensaver cut
in during the upgrade?
I have not had any problems accessing any of the screens from the one
ethernet connected PC. All 3 PCs using DHCP assigned IP addresses so far.

That's the file - yes

No screensaver didn't cut in

Can access the screens but changes to Setup - Basic Setup
only work when done from wireless
On cat5 PC get asked for password and when enter get asked again
3 times then get told authentication screen

??

Hi Ian

I've downloaded that file and installed it that way without trouble. Didn't
fix my problem though.

As I hadn't then been able to get wireless side working, have you tried it
with yours disabled?

Also, when you say you 'tried process again', did you re-download?

Allan

Although I can't find any information to say one way or the other I'll
suggest this anyway. Some firmware will only upgrade from certain
(later) versions. Is there an intermediate upgrade that is required?
