Having acquired one of these wireless modem/routers in the last couple of
days I have to say I am very pleased with it - especially the wireless
connection to my laptop - brilliant. All works well but I have one
question. When the computer(s) are idle, on standby or closed down the
Internet light flashes every 5 - 8 seconds approx. This never used to show
up on the PCI adsl modem I previously used. Nothing else is indicated. I
have no activity shown in task bar or through ZoneAlarm (which is on both
computers). Is this lamp activity normal and harmless or what is it? I
have taken all the reasonable security precautions as recommended changing
all the passwords etc and setting access to the only other computer (laptop)
with encryption, firewall on etc. Any comments or advice will be much
appreciated. My ISP is Demon if that is significant. Windows XP Home with
all latest updates.
