When I first setup my network about a year ago I had this same problem,
After 2 hours phoning Tech Support with a heavily accented woman I could
barely understand Something Finally worked and I decided Not to ask what
happened, I was just glad it finally worked. It worked fine for a year, then
recently the Computer that was the "FIRST" computer installed was removed
from the system and I had to setup the network all over again. I say this
because it just suggests that everything was working before, but not the way
it would "right out of the Box"

Specs = DSL ISP = MSN via Quest (local Phone Co)
DSL Modem = Arescom
Router = Linksys 4 port Wired Hub
OS = Windows 98SE
NIC - Linksys 10/100 Fast Ethernet

This time - Tech support spent 2 hours then Gave up.

Particulars follow:
Win 98 connected directly to DSL/Modem
Set up for Assign IP address Automatically

What happens when you run WINIPCFG on the computer in question? What
IP address is assigned. Can you release the IP and renew?
