Linksys router - high freq sizzle/crackle

I have a Linksys BEFSX41 router -

Recently it has developed an ailment like an old TV set.
You can hear a high frequency sizzle-crackle like sound.

I don't think there is anything like a flyback transformer,
but what could be causing this same type of sound ?

If I break the seal & crack it open - what area should I look at ?

Before pulling your hair out, see if you've got
a replacement "wallwart" you can use to power it up.

It's not likely to be a power issue, but it's simple
enough to check out.
