Linksys router drops AIM and MSN connection

I have a Linksys router model BEFSX41 and 4 computers connected to it plus a
hub connected to the uplink to which I have connected another 2 computers.

Any of the 6 computers drop the connection for AIM and MSN after about 7
minutes of use. Then it connects again.

If I run "tracert www.google.com" I see the router perform what appears to
be a self test. This disconnects the router for a while.

If I connect only one computer directly to the Cable Modem, I can run
tracert and everything is OK. IAM and MSN don't disconnect either.

Any idea what might be?

Tony

Tony,
Check the Linksys Knowledge Base. There's some port tweaking you can do I
believe that will help the situation.

If this supports UPnP, you might give it a try. You might not want to
enable UPmP, but it will automatically open the correct ports that you
can identify and then do the port forwarding manually with UPnP
disabled.
