Linksys - Replacing a Router

I have a Windows XP system with 2 computers wired to a Lynksys 4-port router
with a Linksys Wireless Access Point that connects my laptop to the system
and uses WEP security. All 3 computers share some files and 2 printers via
my network.

I have to replace the router and bought a Linksys WRT54G - wireless 4-port
router, so I won't have to use the wireless access point.. I'm a bit nervous
as to how to do it the simplest way.

Just put the CD in the drive and do whatever it says?

Thanks, CB

Linksys does make it seem as if the CD is imperative -
but it's not. Connect everything up, and enter the browsers
config page at 192.168.1.1 (if that doesn't work try
192.168.2.1)

I would first of all do a reset of the router, then do the small
amount of changes necessary to get you up.
Probably just setting up WEP again.

Obviously, if you use the same key as before, you won't have
to touch the PC setups at all.
Good luck -

Dave

Thanks for the reply. I tried to do it "their way" first with the CD, then
from the EasyConnect on the website and both times it wouldn't connect the
wireless laptop.

Your way worked with no problem!!
