Linksys NSLU2 connection problems.

I connected up my Freecom 400Gb Hard Drive to my PC via USB, formatted to
NTFS, and copied my files over from my PC.

Then I connected the drive up to port 1 on the NSLU2.

Within a few minutes my connection to the Freecom hard drive starts to slow
up and then just grinds to a halt. The NSLU2 just freezes up; nothing
responds (web admin pages, the share, or indeed the power switch on the
front of the unit).

I'm running the latest beta firmware V2.3R72. It was the exact same with the
previous firmware V2.3 R63

If I format the hard drive through the NSLU2 as EXT3 (which seems to be the
only option) everything is fine but I would rather have the NTFS option so I
can transfer larger files plus the EXT 3 runs really slow.

Linksys have been no help. Any suggestions?

Thanks Kev but apparently that is a well known cock up that Linksys have
made and it should be round the other way i.e. Port 1=FAT32/NTFS , Port
2=FAT32/EXT3 but I'm going to give it a try anyway.

Cheers.
