linksys boxes, dhcpc and name resolution

I have four computers behind a linksys box.

After studying the docs, it seems to me that
there is no way to give these computers names
at least in the Linux world.

The Linksys box is a dhcp server, but it has
no DNS(at least I am pretty certain it has no
DNS). It seems to me that the DHCP server
and the DNS server must be one in the same.

Else how is any DNS outside the DHCP server
know how to resolve the names?

It seems that the only solution here would be some
kind of broadcasting solution. Is there one?
This kind of setup is extremely common.

Check out if you can configure the DHCP-server statically serve IPs
according to MAC adresses. Then you can setup your own DNS server on
one of your boxes.

Not necessarily.

DNS and DHCP are two different things. For name resolution to work,
you only need the IP address of the DNS server,

If this works it should be in the linksys HOWTO,
and the dhcpc Howto also.

Shouldn't it?

Thanks, I will give it a go.
