Linksys Booster problems?

I've been using the Linksys WSB24 Signal Booster for about six months,
problem-free. About a month ago, by wireless network went down, and I
spent a day troubleshooting. In the end, I resurrected the network by
removing the signal booster. If I reattach it, the network goes down
again.

I contacted Linksys, and the gist of their response was "Our engineers
are aware of problems with the signal booster, and working to resolve
them. In the meantime, don't use the signal booster, and check our
site for updates."

Not really an acceptable answer, so I pushed them further, and it was
then suggested that I return the product for a refund.

Has anyone else experienced any problems recently with the booster?
Should I assume I need to replace mine? This is easier said than done,
since Linksys appears to be in a wait-and-see pattern re: the FCC
issue.

Thanks,

-eric

Yes, I just bought the booster a few days ago and immediately experienced
problems with my laptop
(Gateway 450 with the built-in ORiNOCO Mini PCI card & Win XP), to the
extent that I had to restore my C partition
(thank goodness for Drive Image). Linksys e-mail support was no help. I
returned the booster for a refund.
I'd definitely stay away from this sucker for a while.

I purchased one about 2 months ago. I brought it home and plugged it in. I ended up having WORSE signal than I did without it! Obviously this was a problem, so I called Tech Support. They ended up telling me to return it. I bought another one and have had only one more problem. The ONE problem was due to a channel conflict with someones phone in my apartment complex. I have loved it so far. I'm personally using the singal booster with the Linksys BEFW11S4. I've found them to be great products. I'm sure I'm luckier than most.
