I have just upgraded the router for wireless use. It works great except for
the wireless. Does anyone have this combination working?

BEFW11S4 - version 4 (firmware is 1.45.3)
WPC11 - version 3 (driver 3.0.4.205)
XP - service pack 2

WPC11 sees network but cannot connect, DHCP or fixed IP address. Earlier
drivers, even XP default, and the WPC11 does not see the network.

Working with Linksys to resolve and their responsiveness has been very good
for a holiday weekend. I just need to know if anyone else has this working.

Cheers

Ron

Yes.
Not sure if XP is SP2.

OK Ron,
Anyway, it has worked for me quite well.
I can even interchange the WPC11 with a wired PCMCIA one from Linksys where
higher speed is needed. No problem there.

I also connect to various other Access Points by changing the SSID on the
WPC11 setup.
I have also used the USB wireless connection. It has much greater range
(probably because of the cable acting as antenna), but the WPC11 is easier
to carry.

Linksys was correct. By replacing the WPC11 version 3 with a version 4,
everything now works.

Because the version 4 loaded a different XP driver, I have to believe that
the version 3 was not defective, but incompatable with all the XP drivers
that were tried. At this point who cares, it's fixed.

Not exactly the same, but close. I have xp/sp1, befw11s4 v2 with
firmware upgrades, wpc11 v2.5 with firmware upgrades. All is working
nicely. I've had to turn off (uncheck) "use windows to configure my
wireless network settings" to get it to connect reliably.
