Hi,
I know this question has probably been asked before, but I will ask
again. I have a Linksys BEFW11S4 ver 2 AP/Router and am having cosistent
problems getting to the managament inteface from Explorer 6 sp 2. I can
ping the device at it's known address of 1.1 but any attempt to get to it
through http fails. I know that I have read of this problem before but I
forget what the consensus on resolution was.

Thanks,
John

You can try rebuilding the TCP/IP stack on the machine, which I think may
be your problem. You can search Google on how to rebuild the TCP/IP
Stack.

Do you have a proxy server set in your browser options? If you do either
disable it or create an exception rule.

the simplest try is to assign the router's IP default gateway address in
TCP/IP (you prob have it set for DHCP which is to acquire IP addresses
automatically). this should get you into the router; fix it and then go back
and change the TCPIP to its usual setting

Funny, I've had the same problem on a Linksys BEFSR41 "wired" router with
both IE 5 on NT & 2000 platforms as well as IE 6 on an XP box. The only
way I ended up getting into the mgmt area via browser was to use Netscape!
Linksys tech support is a pain in the @ss and I tried everything - browser
reset to defaults, router reset, etc to no avail. Posted a message on a tech
board and someone suggested something to do with a Java incompatibilty or
something like that but I took their suggestion and installed something
(can't remember what it was called) and this did nothing. Netscape seems
to be the only thing I can get into my router with (imagine that). If you
get a resolution I'd be VERY interested to know what it is.

PS - No proxy servers or firewall software are present on my PC's (for the
moment....)

Regards,
Ed
