Linksys BEFW11S4 v.2 Serving VPN PPTP Problems

I am attempting to setup a VPN server behind my Linksys firewall while enabling Multi/PPTP/IPSec and forwarding
ports 1723 and 47 to the internal server. When trying to connect from the outside, it never gets past the
authentication part. Am I missing something? Does this model only support PPTP outbound and not in-bound?
I know I setup my VPN server correctly because from another internal machine (effectively bypassing
the Linksys), I am able to connect and receive an assigned IP address.

Any suggestions is greatly appreciated.

i have the exact same problem, have Google'd and found others with the same
problem, and no solutions. very annoying.

I have the exact same problem here with PPTP and haven't managed to
suss it yet either - however I understand from reading Microsoft's
white paper on VPN that PPTP uses port 1723 and PROTOCOL 47, not "port
47". Forwarding port 47, as far as I know, won't solve it.

And there's no way of forwarding "PROTOCOL 47" packets using the
Linksys that I can find....

The LinkSys manual seems to suggest it IS possible - but having
followed it carefully, I'm stuck.

Anybody else out there got any good ideas? :-(
