I have an unusual problem with my home network.
It consists of the following equipment:
1 X D-Link DSL-300G+ ADSL modem.
Connected to
1 X Linksys BEFW11S4 wireless router.
Connecting to this wireless router are
1 X Boggo PC with D-Link DWL-520+ PCI Wireless card.
1 X Boggo PC connected to Linksys router via wired ethernet.
1 X Sony PCG-F809K Laptop with Orinoco Silver PCMCIA card.
The router has a LAN (internal) IP of 172.16.0.1
All connecting stations have static IP's of 172.16.0.10,11 and 12
respectively.
All have 172.16.0.1 specified as their gateway and DNS servers as per
the ISP.
Nearly everything works perfectly. I can access the internet from all
the stations and I'm quite happy with that. The only issue I have is
connecting to the other stations from the Sony laptop. It's very odd
because the stations can ping the laptop and get a reply, but the
laptop CANNOT get a ping reply from the stations. Weird, no?
So to summarise:
Router (172.16.0.1)
Station1 (172.16.0.10) [Windows XP Professional]
Station2 (172.16.0.12) [Windows 2000]
Laptop (172.16.0.11) [Windows XP Professional]
Station1 and Station2 can ping everything.
Laptop can ping router, anything on the internet but NOT station1 or
station2.
Can anybody suggest a solution?
