Linksys BEFSX41 router / port 80 open by default

Hi,

I purchased a Linksys BEFSX41 router for a cable modem
wan firewall to free up a PC for Sol 10.
That box was previously the ``router'', RH9, iptables, etc. etc.

A nmap scan showed port 80 was open on the BEFSX41 wan while
remote access was disabled. The BEFSX41 is protected only
with a password. There were quite a few hits to port 80 from
``all over the place''.

On line tech support chat with Linksys on this...well...India?
Tech support said port 80 cannot be disabled; it will disable my
``internet connection''.

Anyone know if the BEFSX41 can be optioned to disable port 80?
All other ports showed up closed.

Also: anyone ever hear of a DoS issue betwen Linksys 4/8-port
BEF*** routers? Was an issue with one telco's subscribers...
