Linksys BEFSR41 router problems

I recently installed the BEFSR41 router. Most things seem OK with my
system (four W2000 Pro computers), BUT there are problems:

a) Download Managers like JoBo, NetAnts, Download Express do NOT work
now - JoBo produces the message 'download completed', after it has
downloaded precisely nothing;

b) Links to htmls embedded in Word documents do NOT work now.
Clicking them produces the error message 'unable to open the directory
http://www.whateveritis.com'

I am using Sygate firewall. But since disabling it does not solve the
problem, that can't be the answer.

Any advice? What's stopping these Download Managers working? I don't
use a proxy, but nevertheless have played about with the Download
Managers' proxy settings, but without success. What's strange is that
JoBo e.g., used to work fine before the BEFSR41 router went in. So my
hunch is that it's something to do with the NAT system. But I'm
puzzled that these Download Managers' help files don't mention this
problem.

Sounds like the router is blocking ports that your applications need...
