When i turned on my 2nd computer (both of my machines are XP Home) the other
day it shutdown and automatically rebooted-as it would start up again it
repeated this process-this happened several times before i gave up and turned
off the automatic reboot-then,while starting it again,it showed me a blue
screen explaining a system failure:
RT2500USB.SYS PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA followed by a STOP0X00000050
+ more numbers
Upon checking online (on my main computer) about similar troubles,i
determined that the Linksys Wireless-G USB Network Adaptor i was using was
causing the error so i disconnected and uninstalled it-upon reinstalling
it,the dread screen returned!
This is very confusing as it has worked beautifully for a couple months
now-it never caused this problem until the other day-nothing was different
about the system on the day i turned it on-yet this has happened-Is there any
solution ?

Hi
Hopefully your system is upgraded to XPSP2, if not it is a good time to do
so.

Removable USB might not leave ghosts in the device manger, check it anyway
and uninstall any residual ghost(http://www.ezlan.net/faq#ghost )

Log to Linksys site and down load the most recent driver and try again.

To eliminate a possible Card malfunction, since it is a USB device, it is
easy to try to install the thingy on an other computer and check it out.

Jack (MVP-Networking).
