linking 2 LANS over the internet, possible?

hi

i have a small basic LAN in my house, but i am wondering if i can link
it to my cousins LAN in his house?

is this possible? if it is, is it worth it?

Yes it's called a VPN.
The easy way is with hamachi (www.hamachi.com) just install it on every
machine that you want to share data with and build your own network, you
will have access to every resource as if you were on the local LAN.

There are other ways but they can be more complex.
we need more info about what you are doing and what type of hardware you
have.
