Limited or no connectivity after SP1

Hello,

After instelling W2K3Server SP1 the LAN connection has an error "Limited or
no connectivity". The server has 2 NIC's one that connect's to the Internet
and one that connects to the LAN. It is the only server in the network. When
clicking the "repair" button after a while there's a dialog saying that the
connection could not be repaired and that an IP could not be assigned,
however when looking in "details", the correct IP address is displayed.

Fortunately all machines that connect to the server via LAN, get a correct
IP address and are able to access the server's shares and they can browse
the Internet through that server. It is weird that the "LED's" of the LAN
connection don't blink (in systray for example), opposed to before the SP1
installation.

Maybe a useful detail; from Control Panel when clicking on "Firewall" an
error is displayed:
"Microsoft firewall cannot run because another program or service that is
running might use the network address translation component (Ipnat.sys)"
That must be the VPN service that is enabled on that server with NAT, could
that cause a problem?

Prior to SP1 it was all running perfectly.

Thanks for your help.
Perry

I can confirm your latter message:

---------------------------
Windows Firewall
---------------------------
Windows Firewall cannot run because another program or service is
running that might use the network address translation component
(Ipnat.sys).
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

That happens on a fresh installed version of W2K3 Standard with SP1
applied.

Hello,

It is not a fresh W2K3 installation, it is an upgrade on top of W2K3
Standard.
Any way to solve this problem without loosing NAT and VPN, hence RRAS?

Thanks for your help
