Hi

I have a small hard wired network with 3 PCs running XP (sp2)

On the laptop I have checked boxes in drive C properties for sharing, and
allow other users to make chages

From the main PC, I can see laptop C drive \\laptop\C just fine - but I
can't write to it (I get the Access denied, make sure the disk is not write
protected message). Also, I can only view some of the folders on the drive.
(i.e.I can view \\laptop\C\Documents and Settings\All Users, but nothing
more in all users, even though the solders are checked for sharing in the
properties windows)

On the laptop drive H (a data storage drive) I have complete read/write
access everywhere.

I need to allow read/write access to some areas of the C drive across the
LAN for various backup and mirroring functions. What am I doing wong?

Is there a whole level of permissions I am failing to deal with - or is it
something else ?

Many thanks

Tobit

Please ignore the first part of this - I can write to the C drive, I just
can't access folders after \all users. In particular I need to access areas
in all users\ application data\

Thanks

Only an Administrator can do that AFAIR.

Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright
until you hear them speak.........
