Lights flashing on hub

Hi all,

I have a couple of machines connected to an 8 port hub. Yesterday
everything was working fine. Unfortunately today none of my machines can
see eachother. What does it mean if all the lights on the hub are flashing
constantly? I don't have the manual for the hub, so I can't identify what
the problem may be.

Thanks.

It could mean that:

1. The hub or its power supply has gone bad.

2. One or more computers are flooding the hub with packets, possibly
due to a virus or worm.

3. One or more of the computers' network cards are configured to use
full duplex. A hub requires half duplex.

Unplug all of the computers from the hub and add them back one by one
to see if a particular computer is causing the problem.

I've unplugged everything from the hub and turned off the power. I've left
it off for 5 mins and turned the power back on. All the lights are still
flashing!! Does this mean I need to buy a new hub?

By "turned off power", I assume you unplugged it from the wall.
Doesn't sound good...
But before you throw it away, try connecting to the manufacturer's web
page and see if there is a manual or FAQ posted there for you to
