Hello,

I have some questions concerning licensing. If we are
interested in having a network with one file server, one e-
mail server, and we have 50 clients using Win 2000 Pro,
what kind of license strcuture are we required to have?

I know I need a license for every version of Win 2000 Pro
that we are running. I also know that I need 50 CAL's for
every person accessing the servers, but do I need 50 CAL's
per server (100 CAL's total)???

No you need 50 CALs and 50 Exchange licenses. If you did not have Exchange
you would only need 50 CALs.

Hi Mike,

you need 1 CAL per Client & Service, if you have Exchange as your email system
+ file and print you need one CAL which covers Exchange + Server (I think this
was the core CAL). If you have some other Mailservice you just need 1 Server
CAL per Client.

Gruesse - Sincerely,
