I am trying to install a D-link notebook adapter and I keep getting a error
message at the very end that the intallation failed because the libwlan.dll
was not found.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Check on the D-link tech support site for your specific model adapter.
There may be a patch, workaround, updated drivers, etc.

Thanks
I tried D-Link; the driver is the same, but I tried it anyways and same
result. They also do not support this adapter any longer, so there is no
patch or support by them anymore.

Then if they don't support it, return it to where you got it and buy
another adapter with support and current drivers. A new wireless
adapter will not cost you that much and the time and aggravation you'll
save will be worth it.

search for libwlan.dl_ filename in driver's installation directory, and
instruct installer to look in that directory when missing file dialog box
appears.

I searched and the file was not there either.
