A friend has just got a 6 month lease on a house. Does anyone provide
broadband on a less than 12 month contract?

Thanks

Just about every ISP does - BT is the main one that doesn't.

about half the ISPs use 12 month contracts, so you're wrong there. I
would say 80% of UK broadband users are on 12 month contracts.

yes.

Metronet
Zen
Plusnet
F2S

expect to pay about £60-70 for the privelige as a setup fee.

Not quite every ISP but certainly lots do. If you go look at
www.adsguide.org they are all listed.

Look at the setup charges - the ISPs that give free setup/modem tend
to be the ones who lock you into a 12 month contract.

I didn't try that site, the one I use is adslguide.org.uk and that
listed over 40 ISP's prepared to offer 1 month contracts. I must admit
that the overall number of ISP's not prepared to offer 1 month contracts
is higher than I thought.

Really - they look different to me. Perhaps you mean adslguide.org?

Ah, the other poster probably made a typo, while I must have 'corrected' it
while reading (it is fairly common for all readers, apparently, so one will
perhaps need a few times carefully reading text to spot such a typo). Peter
