Anyone got a recomendation for an ISP that still gives reasonable
service during the evening and will allow up to 50GB download a month
at reasonable speed.

My exchange is enable for Be*, Bulldog, TalkTalk and Sky and I'm less
than 1km away.

Are you a Sky TV customer, if so and your Local Exchange is Sky LLU'd (Local
Line Unbundled) then it's a 'no-brainer' - you must go with them. Price from
Free to £10 a month depending on your download speed and usage requirements.

Kraftee - why oh why do you always have such negative vibes..........

I'm sure all these companies offer a 'reasonable' service - however in my
opinion and experience - Sky offer a very good service,

I just realized , I hadn't made myself clear, I just wanted to leave
BT Broadband, not necessarily change from a BT line.

You have missed the point that has been made numerous times. BT still have
to do any repairs necessary to the line that is still owned by them. If you
use an unbundled supplier you then have to get any faults dealt with via
them. Most don't have a 24/7/365 fault reporting service and some even
charge you for doing so.

What's your problem with BT? I've been with them (BT Openworld) for 6
years, with 3 outages, ever. None was more than a couple of hours,
and one was my own fault. Not much fun talking to India, but it's
rarely necessary. I don't see how BT could give any different service
during the evening than at other times (unless your exchange is
heavily contended) - check at:

<http://usertools.plus.net/exchanges/>

I don't know what the download limit is for my Openworld account, just
that I've never reached it
