This is driving me crazy. I didn't change anything to my leafnode
config files, but now it doesn't find any new message! fetchnews says
there's nothing new, and if I give it the -x switch so that it force
the download of old posts, it still doesn't find anything. This is not
a problem with my ISP, other have no problems.

There's no error messages, just a "0 new messages" or "considering
articles 228995 - 229044
fr.usenet.forums.evolution: 0 articles fetched, 0 killed" (with the -x
50 flag)

This is not the first time I have problems with leafnode, it makes me
wonder if it was written by Microsoft, sometimes...

Is there a better server, easy to maintain, and that would allow me to
keep my current /var/spool/news/ hierarchy? (I need the old posts) Or
a server that could import those old messages?

Do this
fetch -vvvvvvvvx
all of those 'v's mean more verbose than last verbose .... check your
username/password. did it get muffed up? I haven't used leafnode in a
long time as I use Suck with c-news (see my sig line and you will know
why )
