LDAP authentication on OS X Server

Does anyone know the settings required in order to get my linux clients
to authenticate using LDAP to my Mac OS X server?

I have looked for this online, but the only reference I could find was
someone else asking a similar question - but the respondent sent the
configuration files direct to the poster so i'm none the wiser!

Anyone come across a nice howto online?

I am afraid I cant really help you, however I have found some
documentation on the vice versa situation: Mac OS X clients authenticating
using a Linux based ldap-server. You might still find some clues there:
