Laptops with WiFi and External Connections

I have Sony Laptop that is about 2 years old. It is getting time to
upgrade. Are there any laptops with external antenna connections for
the built-in wireless? I am a traveler. My Orinoco Silver PCMCIA
card and Cantenna combo are acceptable.

I don't want to buy a new laptop and start taking it apart and
drilling holes for a patched in connector. Thanks

My experience is that Orinoco USB adapter on a cord is more useful, easy to
position for best signal.

That is the kind of info that is helpful.. I have never tried USB
Wireless. Sounds reasonable
