Laptop drops wireless network with RH9

I have a Dell Lattitude C400 with integrated 802.11b wireless
ethernet. I'm using RedHat 9 and the orinoco_cs driver that comes
with it. After I put the machine in promiscuous mode it will drop its
network link after about 10 minutes and fail to function until I
reboot the machine. (using ifconfig, iwconfig, removing the module
and reloading it, restarting the network init script, etc do not
restore connectivity). Anyone had this kind of problem?
