Hello,

I have alaptop that is connected to a DC in one location and the "My
Documents" is targeted on the server.

When I am connected to the domain I am cool good everything.

When I shutdown the laptop to go work somewhere else this thing slowws way
down. any clues or corrolation?

Thanks
Joe

It is looking for a DNS server and domain controller it cannot find. If on
DHCP it may be trying to contact a DHCP server as well. Go into network
properties, TCP/IP properties and put the laptop on an "Alternate
Configuration" to use while you are away from the office.
