Home PC is running XP. All computers successfully log on. Got a new Laptop
running Vista and it cannot find/connect to the Workgroup so I can use the
printer. Any ideas/suggestions please?

Did you set the workgroup on it?

There is a "HOME" workgroup set up on the PC. All laptops can see it and log
on. The laptop running Vista cannot see it. I went into the networking folder
but it can't seem to find it. It sees the wireless finally so I can log onto
the Internet, it just doesn't see the Workgroup.

Vista buries the setup for it and makes it hard to find - I keep
forgetting where it is. Go to Control Panel-> Network and Internet
and click on the "Network Sharing Center" - the main title not any
subtitles.

Then click on "Network Discovery" - the down arrow to the right and
expand it. You'll see a Workgroup entry and a place to change it.
You'll have to restart when you do that.

Ok. I got that far now but it is asking for a Password to log on. It is not
set up for password entry. Aargh.

Try the one you use on the PC. Is the user account on the Vista
laptop the same name and password as the one on the PC?

Tried the password I use to log on to the PC - no luck. Did not try the
password I use to log onto the Laptop though. Will give it a try and let you
know.

Hi Megan
Make sure you enabled "Simple File Sharing" in both PCs
For XP

For Vista
