I recently bought a MN-500 router, and its working fine
with my MN-510 usb adapter. HOwever when it comes to my
laptop (toshiba tecra 8200) the Wireless Mini PCI Lan
Adapter does not detect the wireless network. I have
tried using the broadband network utility to configure
this device, however it gives me an error claiming it
cannot find the base station, so use the adapter software
to set it up- however there is no adapter software. Now
Ive tried going into the configure the adapter section,
advanced tab, and setup the 4 fields
Station Name (I assume this is like SSID), Channel,
Transmit Rate and power management.

I set these up to reflect the settings of my wireless
network. However the wireless network which should be
detected, isnt (even when im 10 feet away). Any clues on
why this could be? I cant add it to the prefered
networks, because it will create another network and mess
up my desktop comp settings with the wireless network
already setup, which works fine. ANY HELP?

so of the Toshibas have a hardware switch to turn on the wireless
radio. you should check with their tech support first to make sure
wireless is enabled on your system.
