you can buy a wireless router and either use a PCMCIA card in your notebook
or some kind of USB wireless device, some USB devices have little pop up
antenna's that help with wireless signal strength. I use a wireless 802.11b
Netgear 4 port router, I have one desktop that is wired, one desktop that is
wireless, and my notebook that uses a Netgear PCMCIA wireless card. I have
no trouble with signal strength anywhere in my house with my notebook. The
802.11b standard is cheap these days and if you are just using the notebook
to surf and email, it will be just fine. The only reason you would need to
go to the 802.11g standard would be if you are sharing big files within your
home network. Hope this info helps...
