Hello group,

I am attempting to share an internet connecton wirelessly. Currently, I
have a westll modem/router that has a laptop using Vista connected to it
wirelessly (host computer). I hard wired a pc running xp to it which I
would like to have connected wirelessly. I am not sure how to do so.
Thanks.

"I hard wired a pc running xp to it..." What is "it" -- the Vista
laptop or the router?

Your "westll modem/router" apparently has wireless capability (because
your Vista laptop is connected to it). So, what's the problem
connecting the XP computer? Does it have a wireless adapter? If not, you
can buy a USB wireless adapter or (if the XP computer is a desktop with
a vacant PCI slot) an internal adapter or (if the XP computer is a
laptop with a PCMCIA slot) a PCMCIA adapter.

I hard wired the pc to the router. The pc also has a wireless network card.
For some reason I can't seem to get it to connect to the internet
wirelessly.

If the pc is able to connect to the Internet when wired to the router
but unable to connect wirelessly, the likely causes are:
1. The wireless adapter in the pc is turned off or has failed
2. The wireless adapter in the pc is unable to authenticate because the
security settings are incorrect. For more suggestions, see MVP Jack's
site: http://www.ezlan.net/wireless.html

A little more info from you is in order.

Can you see *any* wireless networks? If you are using Windows to manage
your wireless adapter, this would be the "Choose a wireless network"
screen:
http://screenshots.modemhelp.net/scr...ks/Index.shtml

Can you see *your* wireless network (which assumes that you have
configured your router with a recognizable non-default SSID)?

What happens when you try to connect to your wireless network? Please
give the full text of any error message.
