Yes the little green lights are blinking merrily. There is no power mgmt.
on the card. I tried installing a seperate nic, (original's onboard), but
it also suffered from the on and off blues. It may actually be a problem

Check if you've got any power management on the nic
itself. On the intel mainboards with onboard nic's they
have a power tab on the device in device manager. It
usually says: "allow this device to turn off to save
power". Woohoo, a nic must really use a lot of power...
Just switch that off and reboot.
