More info? I have a Dlink WNA2330 (Atheros chipset) worked 'out of the
box' with Ubuntu 6.06 using 'mad-wifi'.

Ray, How can I find out what Chipset is used?
In windows, it is working well....
I can see only "Atheros AR5006EX Wirless Network adpator" from Device
Manager.
And it use "c:\windows\system32\drivers\SSB2413.sys.

I'm not sure - I expect there are others here who can tell you that - I'll
poke around when I next use my laptop. I would expect that if it has
'Atheros' in the name, it would most likely be using an Atheros chipset.
How about booting up the Ubuntu Live CD and see if it works?

I find that with my card inserted, lspci shows:

0000:02:08.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82801DB PRO/100 VE (MOB) Ethernet Controller (rev 83)
0000:03:00.0 Ethernet controller: Atheros Communications, Inc. AR5212 802.11abg NIC (rev 01)

first one is the onboard ethernet controller, the other is the wireless
card. I should think you would see something similar.

Hi, Ray.
I tried with Ubuntu Live CD to boot up.
I got one error... It may be related wireless lancard.

[171779701.156000] wifi%d unable to attach hardware : 'Hardware
revision not supported' (HAL status 13)

And when I issue lspci command,
0000:03:00.0 Ethernet Controller : Atheros Communications. Inc :
Unknown Device 001c ( rev 01 )

I think it seems that this chiset isn't properly recogined....

I'm really want to use linux on my table PC.... big problem is wireless
lancard!!!
I think its chiset is latest... so it is not supported yet in linux!!

Do you think is there a another try for this wireless lancard?

Thanks.

(a) get a wireless card that is supported
(b) try installing Ubuntu and updating to "Feisty".
