What is L2TP Passthrough? Do I need it enabled? I have a Linksys WRT54G
router running firmware version 1.42.2. If I don't need L2TP I would prefer to
disable it without affecting my router's performance. Thanks in advance for
your help.

BTW my system:

Dell Inspiron 5100 laptop
Windows XP
Dell TrueMobile 1300 adapter

WRT54G AP
Motorola Surfboard cable modem
AOL Broadband

Compaq desktop
Windows XP

It means nothing to you unless a network or machine you're trying to
connect to over the Internet requires that the connection must be a
secure VPN connection such as L2TP or one of the other VPN connection
types.

I appreciate the response. Apparently it means something to my ISP. After I
disabled L2TP on the router settings I lost my Internet connection! I enabled
it again and I'm back on the Internet. My ISP is AOL Broadband, however the
connection is fed by the local Time Warner Road Runner outfit.
