I have a windows 2003 server at home on a KVM switch using remote desktop to
access XP PRO and Media center. I want to use the Media Center Machine to use
play DVD audio by way of remote desktop, but remote desktop wont allow me. I
know i can do this by way of the KVM but main reason that i do it this way is
to that in Server 2003 i use the DVI connection to the monitor, by KVM is
only VGA.
thanks
KJ

Although this is not a networking question I belive this can be the same
thing as the one described here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/u...q-general.mspx
under the "Can I play a DVD movie over a Remote Assistance session?"
question.

no the problem is not one of bandwidth on my four machine network i would
like to be able to have one of the remote machines (all four in my office
room) to play DVD Audio on without having to use the KVM for all four
machines.

In Remote Desktop Connection, in Properties, Local Resource tab, for Remote
Computer Sound choose "Leave at remote computer".
