I use a Belkin F5D6050u wireless USB adaptor to connect to 2
different wireless internet access points (at 2 different locations)
with the same computer.
Both connections are strong and stable but each time I move from one
to the other i get the deaded browser message "This page cannot be
etc." i.e. no internet connection even though the signal strength and
link quality is OK.
I then try to alter my networks settings (on windows 98SE) in a
haphazard way: I change from "windows logon" to "windows family
logon", and I check or uncheck the checkboxes in TCP/IP
Belkin>properties>bindings> "microsoft family logon" and "Client for
microsoft networks".
And then invariably - after a few computer restarts - I have my
internet connection again. But, alas, when I move back to the first
wireless internet location again, I have to do some more
checking/unchecking/restarting before I can browse the internet.
The crazy thing is that the settings that work seem to be
irreproducible: I cannot find any fixed settings pattern that allways
work with either of the two wireless internet access points.
I have no idea what is going on. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
