I guess this is a cautionary tale - never mess with things you don't
understand!

So here's what happened. I have an NTL cable modem connected to a D-
Link DI-614+ wireless router. A couple of days ago, I bought a Roku
wireless network music player, and although I could play internet radio
over the wi-fi network, I couldn't stream mp3s because the Roku unit
couldn't see my music server (Firefly, running on my wireless laptop).

I figured that the problem was caused by a firewall setting or
something, so I disabled Windows firewall and started poking around in
the D-Link config page (192.168.0.1).

Anyway, something went drastically wrong, and now my wireless internet
has gone on the fritz and I can't get into the D-Link config page to
reverse what I did. I can't remember what I did, because as soon as I
clicked OK, I got an error message and the back button timed out on me.
I think it was in the Advanced -> Filters tab and something to do with
MAC addresses.

Is there any way I can reset the router if I'm unable to log in to the
config page?

Warning the following will restore your device to default settings, all user
settings will be deleted.

Step 1 Locate the reset pinhole on the back of the unit.

Step 2 With the unit powered on, press and hold the Reset button.

Step 3 Hold the Reset button for about 10 seconds.

Step 4 Release the Reset button.

Step 5 The unit will reboot. Allow 20-30 seconds before reconnecting.

Step 6 The device is now at factory defaults.

Note: Do not recycle power during the reset procedure.

The default user name for most D-Link devices is admin and the password is
left blank.

That worked, thanks. Now I just have to get the Roku to play nice.
