Kernel parameters

Hi,

With my 2.4.27-rc1 kernel (gcc 3.3.2) some IP parameters which I set
on-the -fly aren't accepted. Example:

echo 48 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_default_ttl

doesn't change a thing for new ip sessions (stays on the default 64, but
cat /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_default_ttl shows 48)

echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/icmp_echo_ignore_all

does do the trick.

On a other machine with 2.4.24 (gcc 3.2.0) everything works fine.

Is this a kernel, compiler of user(=me) issue?

Eddy
