Wayne,
As it turns out, I just installed an MN-720 adapter on my
Win98 machine last week. It runs at 233 Mhz.
First, make sure your PC accepts CardBus PC cards. The
MN-720 is CardBus, meaning it is a 32-bit PC card. The
older PC Cards are 16-bit and use higher voltages than
the CardBus. So please verify that your PC can use
CardBus PC cards.
Second, if you think your PC accepts CardBus plug the MN-
720 PC card into the PC card slot of your notebook. For
the Setup Wizard to work properly, the MN-720 must be
installed snuggly in its slot.
Third, put the Set Wizard CD into the CD-ROM of your
notebook PC and run it. If you've got Windows Installer
and Plug and Play already installed, your notebook PC
should now recognize the MN-720. You may get messages
that ask you to shut down your PC. Click "Cancel".
Don't shut it down, just go ahead and install.
I was impressed that my install on Win98 went so well.
If nothing works, I guess you should take the MN-820 kit
back to the dealer where you bought it. But it really is
a fine system and probably the best deal on the market
right now.
Good luck!
