I am switching backup methods to a remote backup of a
number of systems. I have a DC that I want to add an
additional card to with a static address for the backup
network. Everytime I enable the new card, it adds the
static address to the DNS and WINs configuration. I have
removed the check mark about registering with the DNS in
the TCP settings. The new card address is in a scheme
that is not registered witht the DHCP as a site. WHen
the system adds the new card, all of the browsing and
such point to an address that is only visible to the
servers. How do I stop it from auto-registering with the
DNS?

Have you disabled Netbios over TCP/IP on the card to prevent it
registering in WINS? (Advanced TCP/IP settings, WINS tab).
