Keepalive Broadcast Beacon

Hi,

I have an issue changing accesspoints on the same LAN area. My client will
not change over to a closer AP with a better sig. After a little research
on the web I found out that this is due to the keepalive broadcast beacon on
the client. As long as the client can hit the access point with the beacon
it will continue to connect to that access point.

So, my questions are....

1. Where can I change the broadcast beacon interval?
2. Is there a better way to have the client change to a closer AP with a
better sig?

Thanks
David.

Hi

If all the AP are part of the same LAN, it would depend on the setting of
the APs as well.

If there is such a “Beacon” setting to the card, it should be in the Drivers
properties.

Log to the Connection Properties

Click on the Configure that is right to the Card name,
http://www.ezlan.net/network/Wireless1.jgp

Choose Advance tab and you would see the Card’s configuration choices.
