wireless network with 2 computers d-link wireless router and d-link USB
wireless adapters have no problem connecting but after 30 minutes to an hour
I lose the network on one of the computers, the other one is running just
fine and never loses the connection. Both are running XP Home SP2 and all
updates installed both using AVG anti virus and Zone alarm for firewall w/
windows firewall disabled.
Sometimes I can run "repair" and the connection will restart but most time
"repair" will hang and I will have to restart the computer in order for the
network to connect again.
Have sorted through all settings in the router, in Windows and anywhere else
I could think of, but have been unable to resolve the issue. Any suggestions
would be appreciated. Thanks

Couple of things... first of all, it's been my experience those usb wireless
adapters aren't as robust as the pci type.

But aside from that... have you swapped the adapters between systems to try
to see if it is one of the adapters? Is the signal strength the same on
both systems? Is the system that drops out close to some form of
interference like a 2.4GHZ cordless phone or other device?

As a fault-isolation step, try turning off encryption, and see if the
problem persists.

I had a similar problem, but with Linksys rather than d-link. I was using
WPA encryption. Turning off the encryption made the problem go away. But of
course that's no way to operate. So I turned on WEP, and the wireless
network still works ok. I'm considering the next step now.
