Keep DHCP address after reboot

Hi all,

Is it possible for a Windows XP client to keep it's (DHCP) IP address after
a reboot and a DHPC server is not available.

- So the PC is on the network recieves IP address from DHCP.
- DHCP server fails
- Clients reboots --> retain the IP address if the lease isn't expired..

Is this possible?

Yes, this is the default behavior if the default gateway is reachable.
Otherwise you need to disable APIPA - See:
