Yo Guys.... I just wanted to say thanks for the great advise on connecting
the laptops! Was in Memphis yesterday and got my Granddaughter and her
roommate connected and running smooth with a Linksys WRT54G and cable
modem.. Not bad work for a some one three days older than dirt! This
group is such a big help ..anywho THANKS to all of the posters...I have a
folder of stuff printed out... When I left the complex the girls were
sitting poolside..laptops in hand!

Way to go, Digital Grannie! My new HP is pretty good out on the deck under
the roof overhang, or in the garden under the cherry tree, but in full sun
it fades a little. It's not one of the new super brite (whatever tradename
the different versions go under) screens, just a 15.4 1920x1200 WUXGA.
Really crisp, and pretty bright, but not under the open sky. Which laptops
(more particularly which screens) do they have that work well in the
sunlight at poolside?

I have to admit it was kinda of kick to show off for the young ones...LOL..
I am dreading downloading the SP2 thingie ...know I will have to spend time
with the girls to get it running on theirs! I got Brooke a Toshebia A75 for
her college graduation... the roomie has a new Dell lappie... I haven't
checked with them to find out how the screens did.
