Joining server to another domain

Hi,

I need to upgrade a NT4 BDC to Win2003, demote it to member server and
rejoin it to a different domain (it won't be a DC anymore). However, this
server has many shares which will be lost when
removing it from the current domain.
Is there any tool that can save the shares and recreate them on the new
domain ? Or maybe a tool
that can list the shares with share and ntfs permissions ? The tools I've
found won't show hidden shares
(the ones with $).

Thanks,
Marius.

Instead of the website you're using, I suggest to use OEx (Outlook Express
or any other newsreader), and configure a news account, pointing to
news.microsoft.com. This is a direct link to the Microsoft Public
Newsgroups. It is FREE and requires NO ISP's Usenet account. OEx allows you
to easily find, track threads, cross-post, sort by date, poster's name,
watched threads or subject.
It's easy:

I think my question was misunderstood.
I'm going for an upgrade of the NT4 server to 2003 and joining it to a
different domain.
It's not a clean install on another machine. The robocopy utility copies
files and permissions,
but what I need is to save or list the shares definitions and permissions so
I can create
them again after joining to the new domain.

Thanks,
Marius.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\lanmanserver\Shares

is the location where all the info is stored for shares.... you can export
that and import that into another server... however be aware of the domain
change -> different SIDs
